About Tumai Water and The Spero Group

How We Work

Spero Group’s initial product offering is in the bottled spring water arena. Tumai Water is sodium free natural spring water bottled at the source in Alton, VA.
Spero Group will produce bottled spring water under the TUMAI label for retail sale beginning in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Portions of the profits from this project will be alloted to non-profit organizations that share like minded goals. This is done with the purpose of supplying those specific organizations with needed finances to enhance and expand their own mission and goals. Initially, at least fifteen percent of profits will be channeled directly to these non-profits with additional donations made as Spero Group is able based upon net profits. Currently, Spero Group is working with several organizations in this capacity including Tumai (the primary aid organization for which the product is named), Engineers Without Borders, and Hands at Work to name a few. These organizations have agreed to work together to accomplish several specific projects to enhance their resources and skills. These organizations and others that will receive funding will primarily fall into two categories:

  1. Those that provide permanent quality of life changes to communities living in abject poverty, and
  2. Those that fight HIV/AIDS, manage those living with this disease, assist in the care of affected communities, and provide hope to those living in abject poverty.

All projects that receive funding will have detailed descriptions with pictures and supporting materials linked to Spero Group’s website. Any project that Spero Group chooses to fund must first be agreed upon by the directors. Also, the company receiving the funding must agree to provide sufficient material as to meet Spero Group’s auditing requirements. A separate paper will be drafted and agreed upon by the directors as to the scope of auditing requirements.

Mission

  • Creating finances, awareness, and other forms of resources as a means to change the quality of life for those who are in need.
  • Meeting basic human needs by a commitment to partnering with and providing funding for like-minded organizations in the effort to provide services and programs to the poor and sick among the world’s population.
  • Proactively seeking to facilitate the establishment of lifestyle changes and health aids which will become sustainable development.
  • Focusing currently on retail sales of bottled water.
  • Supporting the non-profit organization Tumai, based in South Africa, with its mission to supply permanent quality-of-life changes to impoverished communities hard hit by the AIDS and water crises.
  • Continually research and establish new ways of generating funding to expand our ability to provide for humanitarian efforts.

Nowhere are the global AIDS, water, and food crises harder felt than in Africa. The next generation will one day look to us and ask "What did you do about it, as an individual...as a family...as a company...as a community...as a nation...as a world?" What will we tell them?

Tumai Natural Spring Water was created to allow anyone that drinks bottled water, to help make a difference. Drink water and help stem these global crises. It's as simple as that.

Bob Downey, President Spero Group

A guiding quote from Jim Cantelon, President of Visionledd on service in Africa:

Africa requires people with a servant’s heart—people who aren’t looking to aggrandize or find themselves. People who simply see that there’s a job to do and do it for the sake of love. People who pick up the basin and the towel and humbly wash the feet of the suffering.

Jim is correct, people that come to Africa looking to make a name for themselves, tend to leave quickly when they realize the amount of work or the reality of those in need. We want to sell water, true. But more importantly, we want to educate people to the issues of those in need around the world and in doing so, help to foster a yearning to make a difference.

We don't care if it's Africa, South America, South-east Asia, or issues in the US; just find what makes you come alive and go do that. Take part in helping those in this world that are suffering. Take part; and if all you feel you can do is buy a bottle of our water please do that. If, however, you can find it in yourself to take a larger role fin what makes you come alive and go do that.
